Keeping Our Clients Informed – TPB Compliance Statement

At J Bromilow CHAMP Enterprises Pty Ltd, we pride ourselves on the provision of professional, transparent and compliance services in accordance with regulatory obligations set out by the Tax Agent Services Act 2002 (TASA) and the Tax Practitioners Board Code of Professional Conduct.

This page outlines how we meet our obligations in keeping you informed, your rights as a client of a registered tax practitioner and where you can access additional information.

Keeping You Informed

As a registered BAS agent we are legally required to notify our clients if certain significant events occur which may impact on our ability to lawfully provide our services. These “reportable events” include, but are not limited to:

  • Suspension or termination of our registration, being an undischarged bankrupt or going into external administration
  • Conviction of a serious taxation offence, fraud, dishonesty, or sentenced to 6+ months imprisonment in Australia
  • Penalised by other regulatory bodies
  • Ceasing to meet ongoing eligibility requirements for registration

No Reportable Events

In accordance with the Tax Agent Services (Code of Professional Conduct) Determination 2024 (the Determination), we confirm there are no events related to J Bromilow CHAMP Enterprises which have occurred withing the last 5 years which require disclosure. Our tax practitioner registration is active and in good standing with the TPB and we continue to meet all professional, ethical and legal requirements.

Rights And Obligations

As a client of a registered tax practitioner our obligations are:

  • That your tax practitioner maintains current registration with the Tax Practitioners Boar and acts in accordance with the Code of Professional Conduct
  • You are provided with competent services in accordance with current laws and practice
  • Your information remains confidential
  • You are kept informed about the state of your affairs
  • Maintains open and honest communication channels

Our clients also have responsibilities, including:

  • Providing accurate and truthful information and documentation
  • Keeping the required records as required by law
  • Meeting your tax obligations as required by law and Taxation Administration Act 1953

Searching the Tax Practitioners Board Register

To ensure your tax practitioner and BAS Agent is currently registered, you can access the TPB Pub Register at any time. This list details all registered tax agents, BAS agents, and tax (financial) advisers, as well as any breaches of the Code of Professional Conduct and/or sanctions imposed.

Making A Complaint

Should you have any concerns regarding the conduct of your engagement, please raise them with me first so that we can address your concerns promptly. In the event that your concerns cannot be satisfactorily resolved, you may wish to raise a complaint with Institute of Public Accountants and/or the TPB.
